Thanks, I feed her hikari enhanced brine right now. I'm going to try arcti-pods when the brines run out. Hopefully she eats that one.

Actually that's my next question, does anyone feeds with arcti-pods? Because I want to try it first before buying the whole bottle. I want to see if my mandarin would take it, because if she doesn't then I rather spend that $20 on corals or something :)

Thanks

Where do you live in the Esat Bay? I have a bottle of arcti-pods and would be happy to give you some to try out. PM me. Jhipkin

I read somewhere that fish gorge on those things.. a bit larger than your regualr pods... try some garlic with it to enhance feeding...

I love how people say, I got a manderine to control the pod population, like a pod population is a bad thing.

I don't really mind pods I just don't like it when they do things like the picture below.

I asked a lot of people, especially my friend and they said that pods "never ever" attack corals. Well in a span of one week I lost 3 corals, I really didn't know the reason why and the only thing I could find at night that was getting close to them were pods. After I got my mandarin, no other coral has died or looked stressed. So I guess I'll never know exactly why it happened, but right now I blame it on the pods.

Thanks again everyone

I got into reefing to controll/curb my money saving

I wanted to raise the relative humidity of my house and save on heating costs:D

I agree STN, its eating the dead skin I will bet......kinda like blaming a bristle worm for killing stuff......they are scavengers.

I think mandarins are like anenomes......thrive for a few months then take a nose dive....the suckers are always looking for pods.....make a pod pile or a refugium.....I agree 20g is a little small.

STN is slow tissue necrosis, the earlier stage of RTN that can be reversible....

If this has been happening over the course of a few days, I would say STN, find and fix the problemed parameter. STN turns into RTN and then you have a white stick.

Frag that sucker and hope for the best.

Are there rocks in the refugium for pods to have a safe haven? And is there a direct route for them to make it back to the display with regularity for dinner?
