I chose other because I spoil my mantis shrimp with variety.

They all get red claw and fiddler crabs 1-2 times a week. Some get them extra (2-3 times).
They all get ghost shrimp once a week or so.
they all have snails and hermits in their tanks on a near constant basis.
They all get a mix of thawed shrimp/scallop/squid and sometimes lobster as their 'boring' food, when i'm not videotaping crab deaths...

There are usually 2-3 snails in each tank at any time, more hermits in Glaurung's; less snails (2 right now...) in Hydra's.

Hydra (O. scyllarus): Won't eat snails, he gets extra live crabs, usually 3-5 a week. He ate 2 yesterday.

Dagon (O. scyllarus): He gets extra snais, as he eats them voraciously.

Glaurung (G. platysoma): He doesn't really like crabs, but loves hermit crabs. He gets extra hermits, as well as extra ghost shrimp, when I get them.

Baba-Yaga (G. ternatensis): She gets extra crabs as well, because she is so entertaining to watch hunt.

Freya (G. chiraga): She gets extra snails, as she molts longer/hides away, and it is easier to just leave them in, as oppossed to check every day to see if she is locked away or out.

Athena (G. chiraga): She is finicky, still new. She gets extra snails, and I almost have to manually push food into her burrow, as she doesn't like to come out much. :(

Typhon (G. glabrous): She is really ferocious, so she gets extra crabs as well. It is fun watching her stalk and wrestle them, and she comes out and interacts with me quite a lot.

Baron Munchausen (G. viridis) : Extra ghost shrimp. snails. He doesn't really eat hermits much, there are a couple of long lived 91 year+) survivors in there.

When i had a little N. wennerae (Lo Pan...RIP), he loved ghost shrimp, and thawed squid.

Hope that helps,

-Ron

When I first got mine O. scyllarus she ate silversides and clam meat though after I gave her live ghost shrimp she now won't eat the silverside or clam meat she just takes it into her burrow and later she drags it out leaving me to pick it up and throw it away. Now she'll only eat ghost shrimp, my LFS get's in some nice larger ones and they are pretty cheap. I'll soon try live crab though doesn't that get messy with the shell and legs laying around?

Post some of those videos of your mantis's whooping up on some crabs!!! That would be awesome! A video was the first thing that got me interested in mantis shrimp, and now that i have one, i wish ihad a video camera to share it with others........ with all those shrimp i bet you have some decent footage

I feed my O. scyllarus shrimp pellets most of the time, once every week or two I give her a piece of raw cocktail shrimp, and on special occasions she'll get a snail, hermit, or glass shrimp.

my gonodactylaceus ternatensis gets frozen krill, squid and clam and live fiddler crabs, all different kinds of snails, occasional crawfish and all the monster crabs that I can find at work

I'll need to find somewhere to host them, as they are too big for RC...

I have some pretty cool clips, yes. I remember a few 'way back when' of a mantis chasing around a big crayfish, but honestly, my clips are much shorter. My mantis kill things quickly. I am looking into finding some way to 'montage' a bunch of clips.

I go to the beach and collect coquina clams. They're the perfect size for an n wennerae. He gets three or four of those a couple times a week.

For supplements he gets thawed shrimp and pieces of fresh seafood.

i will only feed my G. smithii live foods (better for his arms) he loves hermits, he likes one kind that i got in a bag of blue legs the most.
