what do you suggest?

I have a Aqua pod 24 gallon....currently i have 2 false clows in there..im goin to get a royal gramma...and i need one other fish..i want a bigger more expensive one...with nice colors...mabey a dwarf angel or a small tang..any ideas? what would work good in a reef inviorment?

definitely not a tang, they poop way to much(nitrates,phosphate)

Get somthing small. Maybee a mandarin goby? I like flame angels, they stay small and dont poop so much.

you really cant have a angel or a tang ina 24 gallon, and really, adding the royal gamma is going to bring your bioload near to the limit. Tang need atleast a 75 gallon tank with lots of open water, even the small ones. Angels are similar but dont need as much swimming space, i think 30 gallons is a minimum but thats still small if you ask me. All angels are not totally reef safe and only a few oddities actually behave themselves from feasting on corals. If you want something interresting, buy a small reefsafe wrasse, that whont grom more than 4 inches. even then, wrasses can quarel with royal gamma

that tang and angel will both not only cause your bioload to go up, but they both need more room than 24. Theres one or 2 dwarf angels that can be in small tanks like this, but i still wouldnt recomend it at all. I agree tho that 30 is the minimum for stuff like a flame angel.

I've got a sixlne wrasse in a 55 and i wouldnt recomend that in anything less than 30 either..way too active. Manderins would fit...however imo you need a fuge thats putting out tons of pods, because even people with fuges and much larger tanks sometimes have to feed the tank pods besides the ones that grow in the fuge.

IMO, go with maybe small fish...that gramma is gonna be the biggest fish imo. Go with stuff like watchman gobies, maybe some other sorts of smaller gobies or a bicolor blennie maybe...i think those stay small.

dude get a firefish, its perfect! everyone is right regarding the tangs and angels...the firefish PERFECT! especially if you can get your hands on a helfriechi. Absolutely awesome coloring, highly sought after and chills in the water coloums, eats everything.


On another note, DO NNOT get a tang/angel/6 line wrasse i have had all of them in a 40 breeder (before i knew better) and they kicked the crap outta eachother. I will never do that again, gave a couple away, but was heart wrenching to see them fight...domestic violence is never attractive.
