What do you think about flow?

Best option for flow? not reef ready tank
I have had my 40 gallon hex tank for about two years now. I started off with two small power heads but hatted them because the filtered clogged two much and hurt the flow. Now I am using a mag 7 with a close loop (around the top) I have been having problems with microbubbles. I want something easy. I can not drill the tank because it is full of water. I have two options either get a better external pump or buy two Hydor Koralia. What would you do? If I go with the Koralia what size would I need? thanks

Have you thought about doing a hexagon shaped PVC closed loop sitting on the bottom with a few loc-lines coming out? Just an idea. I have heard good things about the Hydors as well. I say drain it, and drill it though.. But I am a sucker for true CL.

It has been set up for a year now. I don't want to drain it. If I go with the Hydors which ones should I get?

Koralia 1 400 gph 3.5 2-1/4" x 5"
Koralia 2 600 gph 9 2-7/8" x 5-7/8"

Either 20 times the flow or 30 times the flow? I have a 175 mh light over it. So far for the corals I have a little of everything in it.

if you have bubbles youve got a hole somewhere, id redo the cl plumbing (cheapest) and see if that makes you happy.

I have redone it twice. It seems like it might be the pump? Does anyone have a good way of building a good intake for a close loops that isn't drilled? Right now I just have a pipe with a sponge filter sitting on the end of it.

how deep is the inlet in the tank?

sponge filter = ewwwwwwwww, and nitrate factory
