This study seems squed towards a bow front owner....

hmmm...

I like em, but they've been pricey for me this far, I've thought about adding one to the 300 when it's done... perhaps I'll get back to it soon.

I've got a 4-way on mine, and I love it! There are many things I wish I had done different, but the OM is not one of them. I think it's an awesome product, well supported (even got a personal call for a question I posed in a forum).

Only real problem I had was the drum hanging from sand during the initial setup. Had to open the top, clean it out, and apply the ol KY.

I have an eight way on my 180 it could use a little plumbing change but I would buy it again and like Scotter says when I first started my tank the drum stopped turning all the time but after I had my rock in and things calmed down some it worked great. It has been running for over a year now and never touched it. (Quick Quick find some wood to knock on )

I had the same experience with a 4-way on my 210gal. I added some sand similar to southdown. Well I wanted to get the 4-way going as soon as possible. Even though I had what appeared to be a milkshake in the tank. A few weeks later the 4-way stopped turning.
I took it apart & cleaned it. It has been running for + 4 months, no problems. It was all my fault that the 4-way stopped working. Also the 4-way came apart so easy for cleaning.
I have the revolution devices on my 4-way setup, along with a Reeflo Dart pump, well worth the money.
As far as cost goes, about the same as a pair of Tunzes.

I've got 2 of the 4 ports left alone and providing current from each end. The other two are each split into four and going through the back of the tank behind the rock. Being split the velocity isn't great, but is keeping things moving back where nothing else could.

Since the initial set-up, and having to clean sand out of it, I haven't had to open it in a long time. However, I wish I had designed my own set-up so the top of the OM was higher than the tank water level (barely). Just so I COULD remove the top to clean without having to shut down a total of 11 ball valves to do it, and still have some water from what was left in the lines above the level of the OM.
