What else can I say but looking awesome! Now the question is how hard was it to get your arm in there and glue it :) On a different note, are your using any reference point by the coral to figure out how much it is growing?

Beautiful tank slapshot! Nice aquascape!!!

As far as the Distichopora goes, it's a beautiful specimen. Do you ever see the clear "hair-like" gasterozooids expanded to feed? If so, what are you feeding it?

I've had mine for just under a month now, and have yet to see the gasterozooids expand to feed when I'm watching my tank (I watch at night also, and still nothing). I'm getting worried.

Anyone have any tips on how to get the gasterozooids to expand to feed?

Is it growing? I studied the two pictures (paying close attention to the branching tips), and I couldn't see any real difference between the two except that the first one was taken farther away then the 2nd one. It's only been a month though, so I don't know how much growth you could see with this coral anyway.

Not trying to sound like an a**h*** here just making an observation. slapshot you have a killer tank, and any advice you can shed on keeping Disichopora would be much appreciated!

I have a real vested interest in any success with Distichopora since I recently aquired one myself. I want to do what I can to make it thrive in my tank.

It would be interesting to see how long the Disichopora is in the aquarium before visible gasterozooids seen and if once they are seen, there is any change in growth.

Well Mike, lets just say I had to bend in a strange way. LOL. The tank is 32inches deep so its a long stretch and then add the SPS in the way, well you get the picture. Hard to tell about growth. I don't get any feeders but the color is getting better. I take the pictures to study to see if it is growing. So far I would say no.

Thank you all! We will have to see about the care. I really don't know. I am happy about the color change so far. I wanted to try it because there are white Stylaster looking corals growing in that spot as hitchhikers. I figure its worth a shot then. I'll let you all know.

Thanks Jason. Yea, yours looks real bad. :rolleye1: As for the aquascape, it is hard to see in a picture but there are 6 different pillars or structures that make it up. I am very happy with it. There is actually a full sized Tunze Wavebox in there. The best test is I have two sets of breeding clowns in there. A set of Maroons and a set of Perks. To keep a set of Maroons with eggs with a set of Perks with eggs means something is right. Anyway thank you all.
