Yeah. While there certainly are plenty of colorful sorts of corals in the indopacific that aren't represented in the Caribbean, Mark's take is spot-on for the most part. Most corals are brown, no matter where you go. Colors on reefs mostly come from sponges, azooxanthellate corals, ascidians, etc. Sure people take pictures of patches of mostly colorful corals in the indopacific. Would you take a picture where all the corals are brown? ;) No, photographers have to sell photos, and only the exceptional--the unusual--will sell.
