I just set up my new BB mixed reef tank but from my old tank, I still have the damn small vermitid snails all over my rocks. I though the BB might starve them, but they seem to be multiplying. anybody know a biological way to fight them? I though maybe a wrasse might, but no luck.

i just posted a thread about this yesterday. and from further research, the only thing that is known to eat them are copperband butterflies.

and technically they dont live off of nutrients, they eat very small particles that float through the water column. (plankton, food, small animals)

i have a BB as well, been set up for a while, and i literally have hundreds of these things. They apparently dont do any harm to fish nor coral, and actually the slime they use to catch food, can also be used by some coral for food.

the article on reefkeeping.com about them is very informative.
