I am wondering what epoxy or how people mount frogspawns to their LR? Also what's the frag below ...

does anyone know if this alveopora or the polyps on the coral can grow back? ... I had about a half of another piece just die off when I went on vacation... :(

I use Aquamend or Harveys epoxy putty to mount euphyllia. I'll also use a pretty good sized piece of rubble to mount it to. Looks kinda ugly until the epoxy gets covered with coraline but looks better than a dead coral that fell/got knocked over because it wasn't mounted securely.

jmo,

Thanks Ti I am mending it because I left the tank unattended for a month when on vacation ... you're in SV too hehhe which shops do you go to?

Definitely Alveopora. Moderate lighting and flow. From the looks of yours, it likely absorbs most of its nutrients from the water column, though you may want to attempt feeding with something along the lines of the Liquid Life MarinePlankton (this is what I feed my Goniopora) or maybe even something smaller. My gonis with similar-looking polyps will take smaller foods, such as frozen rotifers, baby brine and DT's oyster eggs.

It looks a little bleached. You might want to get an iron test kit and test your iron level. Might need to bring it up. Dosing iron will help bring back color in goniopora and alveopora.

Do you have a pic of how they are supposed to look ... because I have 2 of these frags and they are identical in color and shape.
