Iceemn, I think you've earned more than a little wiggle room. Your photographs are always very inspirational. I do have to ask about post processing though. Your colors are always so...different...than everyone else's. I've said for years that I believe Pentax cameras produce the best color. I praise post processing and think it is the single greatest advantage digital has over film, but I do wonder how much of your photograph's consistent unique colors are from processing, and how much is from the Pentax brand name.

Here are some shots from my NIKON D60

They are by no means close to some of the pics that you guys take, but I am pretty impressed since this is my first DSLR!

Very good question. Like many here, I do post process (although rarely with RAW files like i probably should). Mainly the processing that I do involves changes in color temperature> the Pentax cameras can be a little off once on the WB from time to time. With that said there are many many photos that remain untouched from the camera to the computer screen(ie the k20d photos i posted are unedited). So the consistencies in color you are seeing are probably from the camera (im often too lazy to pp!).My older K10d tended to have photos with more saturation but the K20d is a bit more true to life. Other than that, the color is from pentax and I love it! With that said I marvel at the photos that other photographers here have shared (largely cannon and nikon). Everyone has a different perspective and approach that urges me to find new things in what I see. All for the win!

glparr, are you shooting with the 135mm f/2? You have some great posts as well.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, the Naso was shot with the 135L f/2, probably with an extension tube. Not sure what I used for the other shots. No doubt a variety of lenses. My primary macro lens is the Sigma EX180.

The candle photograph above is excellent!

Thank you, and that is straight from the camera to photobucket. There was no editing of that photo. no setting were changed on the camera either, just a really dark living room and 3 burning candles lol.

Great photos from everyone! If anyone could pm me though, I would love to know how you guys do the borders with your signatures in the pics....is that like a photoshop thing?

Thanks

Did you use a star filter for the lights? Your HDR and seagull photos are great! Okay they all are!

Thanks.. coming from you, it was a great compliment ;)
Yes that's with a Hoya 8-star filter.

Boostin - My borders are automatically generated by a Lightroom plugin called "Mogrify" upon export. I don't know how other shooters do theirs.....
