hey at least he's using the viewfinder and not the rear LCD like a true P&S

Anyways, does anyone have any info on this Canon lens? Is this an "L" lens? It looks soooo cute!

There is no need, We all know that Doug has a "Canon 4 life" tattoo on his neck

Its not an L lens or even a Canon lens. Probably a tamaron, sigma, or the like. Single focal length I would guess <50mm? It doesn't look like the aperture is very wide either.

Actually you'd be wrong on all accounts. :D

Most people have never heard of them before, there are also a couple other lenses in different focal lengths made the exact same way by Canon. Consider them a "Canon experiment" - basically an AF only lens with their own built in motor. They flopped...BADLY, slow, noisy. There have been other lenses occasionally introduced trying to follow the same design concept but they've never succeeded.

I apologize, forgot to mention that I was shooting with a D700. Just upgraded fro a D80 2 days ago and that was one of my first shots.
