I currently am new to the saltwater world. my brother has worked at a very good fish and reptile store for a few years now and he has gotten me interested in reef tanks all together. I am questioning what to put in my 29 gallon biocube. i have around 21 lbs of LR, mostly tall along the back of the tank leaving most of my front open except for the forward left corner has a small rock. I plan on saving the space in the front of the tank for a rather large elegance coral.
Currently occupying my tank is a onyx percula clown, diamond goby, and new, rather small, yellow-eyed tang. i feel that there is enough room for the tang to coast around in and LR for him to hide behind. I have watched this tang in the local fish store for a while and he had always done fine in his small cubical. plus the manager of the store who i have known for a while said it would be fine in my tank. i trust him 100% in what advice he gives.
Since this 29 gal biocube is quite new, currently running 3 to 4 weeks, the only upgrade i have is i replaced some bioballs with matrix and a bag of purigen, along with extra filter material on top of the overflow tray. soon to come i will purchase a head to add more flow and eventually a protein scimmer.
My question is what other fish would be good to mix with my 3 fish and not overcrowd the tank. and If these 3 fish is the max amount of fish i should keep in this tank that is perfectly fine.
Any questions, opinions, or advice is welcome
Thanks, Michael
