What happened?

I added some super buffer dkH per directions on the bottle (powder Kent stuff)... and i saw all these long webby strings coming out from the pores of my rocks... after about 15 minutes of flow, they all dissapeared.... but im still wondering... what was it?

what are spaghetti worms? See, these threads actually came OFF the rocks, and were flying around the tank. Then i guess filtration took care of it after 15 mins or so...

zsplat, thanks for that link... interesting stuff... but im not sure if these were spaghetti worms, because these actually let go of their fibers, it wasnt like they were out for a bit, and then go retracted.

mhurley, i dont remember what the dkh testesd for because i had done it several days before adding the super beuffer, but it was low. And i added 1 tablespoon , dissolved in a cup of RO water (my tank is 20 gal).
