What have you done with your tank lately?

Finished up my Apex 2016 control panel.

Dude, holy crap that's a great looking control deck. It adds to the tank, and doesn't distract from it. Come build me one!
Also I like the Robert Wyland orca's on top.

Thanks yall. I'll talk to wife on a Pizza night. Prob have to be when school gets out tho. I know how yall get down on Thurs nights😉

I don't know man..... You buy the parts, toss me a frag of something I don't have, a day over the weekend and I'll help u get it done. I'm not a DIY'er but it wasn't that hard really. The boxes are from Ikea. Its 2 BESTA systems with the smoked glass doors on each, a piece of wood I had cut a Home Depot. Some paint for the wood. A hole saw. A couple of Apex/Ecotech cut outs to place everything and get the spacing right. Maybe beer or 6 and bam!

You got a lot of equipment so I think that would be fun.

Finally upgraded made up my mind on lighting. Went with the 6 x 54 Ati. Very happy with how it looks and the coral that made it through the move last summer aprove as well.

First t5 so im sure ill mess around with it, but I currently have the following:
Ati purple plus
Ati coral plus x2
Ati blue plis x2
Giesseman super actinic

Not sure which order though

Also the DOS seems to be working properly and replacing 5 gallons in a 24 hour period , and since it replaces it at the same time it removes it it doesnt interfere with my ATO at all. Im pretty excited to see the results of consistent water changes after a few months.

Can you tell a difference in anything yet? (Besides, of course, the set-and-forget).
Have you had to recalibrate your DOS?
Also, you use IO, right? Do you mix up a 50 gallon bag at a time? If you do, how much water do you use? It seems like I only need 47 gallons to get it mixed to 35 ppt.

I havent really noticed anything significant. I did have some No3 and I was doing a regiment of Aquaforest/vinegar/vodka dosing to get it in check. Now that thats done I started testing my other parameters regularly. Ive gotten everything within acceptable ranges so now I'll get to see if everything stays stable in the next few months.

I havent had to recalibrate the DOS yet. I did change the timing from 24 hours to 12 because it's is loud when working.

I was using IO but switched to Fritz for about 600 gallons. I didnt like the Fritz so I switched back to IO. I do mix up 50 gallons at a time but havent really noticed having to use less than 50 to get proper salinity, but I always refill the barrel before it gets empty. So its possible. I'll take a close look next time I refill and report back.

Been abit for me.
Still a work in progress,(always!), but seeing improvements.

Had two systems side by side consisting of a 120 display and a 75 sump, and a 40 breeder over a 58, with a 20L sump. Then the 58 started leaking.
Tore it out, and have been able to plumb the 40 breeder/frag tank into the 120, and added a 20L as a chaeto refugium/nutrient export device.

I purchased a pair of Mars Hydro 300 lights off ebay for the chaeto, currently only using one. These are purpose built for horticulture/indoor growing, so they work well on the chaeto.

Current parameters:

DKH - 7.45
Ca - 425
Mg - 1320
NO3 - 2.5 ppm
PO4 - 0.04 ppm
SG - 1.025

I'd like to get the PO4 down to 0.02, but I'm still dialing things in. Been doing alot of testing on a regular basis.

40 Breeder/Frag is lit by a single Reef Breeders Photon 16 Gen 1 that I got a great deal on. Still need to get it figured out since I've only had 4-5 days. Seems pretty good so far. But time will tell.

I also stumbled in a Radion G3 Pro at a good price and it should be here tomorrow. It's going to go over the frag tank and compliment the Photon 16.

The biggest addition to the system fish wise is a pair of earmuff wrasses(Halichoeres melasmapomus). Picked up a 5 inch terminal phase male and a 2.5 inch female.

Pictures will be forthcoming....

Craptastic Ipotato pic of female before she dove into the sand:

Didnt even get to take those of the male before he hide...so here are pics from the store:

Those are actually close to life size images of the male....
