what heater?

Im looking for a GOOD heater that i can use on my qt tank. The room it is in can have drastic temperature changes so i need a heater that can keep a steady temp. (work hard when it's cold but not over heat the tank when it warms back up) Someone said i should look into one with a controller like this:http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produ...ge-_-Heaters&ref=3969&subref=AA&N=2004+113767 but they are aut of stock. any suggestions?

I've used Jager heaters. They're high quality and are pretty inexpensive.

I use two of these with pretty good success. I had one fail after 3 years.

I like it because its titanium.....doesnt break and there is an external controller.

There is no such thing as a high quality aquarium heater

For a display tank, you really need to be running a temp controller.

For a QT it would not be a bad idea either. If that is not an option, then you want to get the smallest heaters possible. Use 2 of them to heat the tank. Size them so that a single heater can not quickly overheat the tank if it sticks on.

I guess the first question should be... how big is your QT tank?

thanks for the help guys! what is a temp controller? I am not familliar with that. My 2 qt tanks are 25 gallon high tanks.
