What (if anything) does Live Aquaria do to treat fish NOT from DD?

Does LA do anything at all to the fish that are not from Divers Den? I have two fish arriving from them today, one from Divers Den, the other from the main site /other warehouse. I'm not sure what steps to take to treat the one not from DD.

Thanks!

I believe LA ships from the wholesaler (quality marine rings a bell).

DD holds fish for a while longer, treating for any problems they see.

I would suggest QT for both instances. At minimum, TTM and prazi before going into your tank

From what I understand Quality Marine has several huge UV sterilizers on their holding tanks, outside of that I'm not aware of anything else they do.

Why would you treat any of the fish differently? You should assume any and all fish you purchase are infected and act accordingly.

They put those fish through hell at DD and treat with every thing under the sun. A fish that has just been through will of that sure as heck shouldn't go through it all again. Twice the copper, twice the metro, etc etc.

Their life span is probably already significantly reduced.

I have seen fish from DD to have ich, their quarantine procedure is too short to be 100% effective. Even DD suggest to quarantine the fish.

If you worry about copper and collateral damage, use another type of medication or method. Blindly treating fish with copper is not a good method to start with. You should threat what you suspect.

You can do TTM for ich and prazi for worms/flukes since that has minimal collateral damage. But for others diseases, I dont threat unless I suspect something.

Not sure where you got the information that they treat the fish with everything under the sun?? This is inaccurate

Their website lists all of the treatments. They do adjust for species specific sensitivities, but they do more than I would do without symptoms. I am not a big fan of medication without need.
