What in the World is this Creature. ID Please

Its a bivalve. It sticks to live rock, away from light in crevices. Open up when lights out, good filter feeder.

I'm sure it's a bivalve filter feeder and good for your tank. I see similar small 'clams' like this attached to rocks when I snorkel in the Keys. Most of the time they are impossible to remove as they are in crevices in the rock and their foot attaches very well. Maybe 1 time out of 20 I can get one off and have a few in my tank. But they can/do move until they find a good hiding place and then they don't move at all except to open and close.

It's hard to tell from the pics and videos you've posted so far, but it looks like it has filaments, or tendrils, or tentacles that extend out when it's open. I can't say I've seen that before except with red or white flame scallops. But that's not what you have, it just has a similar feature... if I'm seeing it properly.

I have clams in my sump but none of them are black or even close to this. All yhe clams I've seen have white insides. NEW SPECIES?? (0.00001% chance it is new)

So, is bivalve the confirmation then? I honestly had no idea other than a sea slug of some sorts and the hard shell eliminates that possibility.

As per Ron, yes they are bivalve, similar to clam. It will move, and stick itself once they found a perfect hiding place. I have a few that came with live rocks. With multiple layers of filters pads along its mouth make it so alien looking clam. Don't know scientific name though.

Thank you everyone for all the input and help figuring out what this is. Im still curious as to what exactly this is, so if anyone reading this comes across the scientific name or common name I would like to know. I will continue to watch it as this thing fascinates me!

Thanks again everyone!!!
