What in the world is this in my refugium?

Looks like a spagittie worm harmless and very good for cleaning stuff. They are hitchhikers on some live rock :)

Looks like aiptasia or majano and bad.

If you can remove the rock just chisel the rock off to remove the whole anemone.

Aiptasia. Get rid of it asap and keep a close eye out for more for the next few months.
Like ff337 said, you need to get the whole foot or you'll just spread it more. You can also burn it with acid, or kalk paste, or boiling water injection. There's a lot of threads on how to attack it if you search.

Ah poop. Ok this is the only one I've seen so far and it's in my refugium.
A) should I be worried it'll spread to the DT?
B) can I add any living organism to the fuge or the DT to preemptively attack it?

Aiptasia-x zap it, keep an eye out. Their only bad if you let them get out of control. If you take care of them and kill them as you find them you'll be in good shape, if this is in your fuge you can add a peppermint shrimp.

You can try a peppermint shrimp. I had a few aptasia in my tank several months ago and picked up two peppermint shrimp and they ate em all.

I'd like to see a better pic of it. I've seen a lot of aiptasia and majano anemones in my time and that looks more like a ball anemone which is pretty harmless and won't spread like aiptasia or majano.

You can kill it to be on the side of caution, but I wouldn't. I'd want a better view, a better picture and solid ID. Have you gone online to see what an aiptasia looks like? Then google a ball anemone and compare it to yours. You get to see your little guy with your own eyes, so you can do a better comparison than we can from one... less than perfect photo.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I may be wrong, but it's not like this is a dire emergency even if it is an aiptasia.

I found a good pic online and it is identical to this:

Also I found some more smaller ones within the chaeto and removed those as well. Looks like I'll be picking up a peppermint shrimp to live in the fuge.

Thanks everyone!
