What is a good food to feed LPS?

Bebereef, I've never tried that, thanks for the suggestion! Thank goodness for Asian supermarkets for their Nori, and now their orange fish eggs (fish roe?)!

I found in a sushi shop flying fish eggs, they are orange and very small (size count), not too expensive and beware that even your fishes will "fly" to grab some...:spin1:

Personally, I think frogspawn are more of a nutrient filter feeder or opportunistic feeder. At least in my experience. Mine have gone from 2 heads to over 30 in 2.5 years and have never spot fed them. My Acans, Plate Coral, & Sun Coral - I feed thawed out frozen mysis once a week. Hope this assists in your inquiry.

Other than Mysis, Cycopleze, and Reef Plankton; I pick up the frozen seafood mix at the grocery store, and every other night or so I use a zester to grate up what ever I pull out of the bag. Last night I left some big (1") pieces floating around and the favia, open brain, acan, and Moseleya that caught them really appreciated them.

I spot feed everything in my tank at least twice a week. The LPSs I give enriched brine shrimp or mysis on Wednesdays and Sundays. The Ricordias, Palythoas, and Rhodactis also go nuts over them.

On Mondays and Fridays, I feed with Oysterfeast or Cyclopeze mixed with Marine Snow. I target feed all of the smaller zoas, Actinodiscus, and SPSs, but I have found that the Frogspawn also like this as well as does my Duncan. Also, I save a little of this mix and when I turn out the lights I turn off the filters and skimmers and then about thirty minutes later mix this remaining into the water column with a powerhead to get those acros that only feed after dark. I generally leave the filters and skimmers off for 2 hours with the powerheads providing circulation.

Everything is growing like crazy, but I also do a minimum 20% water change every week to help with nutrient control.

PE mysis and frozen cyclopeeze here. I may give oysterfeast a try as many people show success in doing so.

are there any nutritional benefits of one over the other... frozen prepared foods like mysis, brine, etc vs fresh from the supermarket?

I've got to think the fresh stuff from the supermarket is cheaper, and the prepared stuff from the LFS is easier... but is one better than the other in terms of nutrition and coral growth?

I mainly use Hikari spirulina brine shrimp and Hikari mysis for my sun polyp, candy cane, bubble coral, etc. cyclopeeze makes a big mess, but they like that too. I tried the flying fish roe from the asian market, but didn't get great results. New life spectrum pellets work well too.

I also like broadcast feed live mysis and live baby brine, my LFS gives them away for free.

I feed all my lps tilapa from the grocery store. If you have shrimp be shore to feed them first or they will steal it.this is cheap a will make your lps really happy. And the shmrip too
