What is a Null Plug?

I originally got the P3ex... one of the big kits. I'm just now installing a the redox probe. The redox card came already installed in the profilux. Now I'm about calibrate and it says i need something called a null plug. Never seen it, never heard of it. What is it?

It zero point calibrates your redox probe, leave it in place if you do not have a redox probe connected and use it as per the instructions for the first part of the calibration process

Leave what in place? I don't even see anything. I had already plugged the redox probe in since it doesn't even come with calibration solution.

I think I may have found it.
Is it just a connector with no wires attached to it? I couldn't find any pics online.

we were talking about the null plug.

if you have plugged in the probe and calibrated it then you are good to go, but sounds like you have not calibrated it otherwise you would have used the null plug.

In the manual under redox it details how to calibrate, no probe comes with calibration this is separate.

LOL, michael... you ever see Who's on First? :D

The problem is, this null plug didn't come with my Profilux already plugged in. I just found it in it's own little baggy. The instructions say "null plug" but there is no picture. And I couldn't find a pic online. So i had no idea what a null plug even was/is. But pretty sure i got it now.

As to the calibration solution, this should really be included. Who buys a probe and doesn't need calibration solution? Even if I had some leftover from a year ago, I'd rather use a fresh container. It's good that's it's available separately, but it should really be included. I'd rather pay more for the probe/solution combo than have to pay for shipping TWICE. Just my 2 cents. ;)

Hiya

many dont buy the solution as they either have some or use their own value. I can add it to the cost of the probe but then clients who dont want it end up spending more.

I guess the natural assumption is if you buy a probe you will need to calibrate it.......... ;)

Exactly! Which is why i feel it should be included. :)

I see the point both ways. I would just assume that more people need it than don't, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, problem solved. I'm calibrated and rockin n rollin.

Same here.... I bought the Ultimate Kit from you for well over thousand dollars and it doesn't include a 1 dollar piece, so my probe goes uncalibrated. Where am I supposed to get this and why isn't it included.

Since I'm whining why in the heck is the profilux Touch not able to name the icons for what they control. I have over 32 outlets and I'm supposed to remember the number for each device instead of it showing the name already set in profilux. I'm starting to lose faith in you GHL....

The calibration fluid comes with the packs, what ever probe is in the pack you will have matching solution. So you will have PL-Cali 220mV in your pack, I know this as I put them in there ;)

In regards to the touch and numbering if you look on the support forum this is coming in the ext firmware update.

The null plug is in the bag with the temp probe, its in a small clear bag inside the big bag with manual and probe. it cant leave the factory without it as they are tested with it.

That's really odd as for sure they really can't be shipped without but please email us and we will see whatt we can find for you

It was not in it and I still have all packages and bags in the box that I went through 15 times.

You may be able to buy one or get one of someone that knows about coax Ethernet. Null plugs were used extensively at the end of coax runs to terminate the run.
I have half a dozen laying around here from 25 years ago.

OK Sorry I have mislead you.:hmm2:
Just checked the impedance of the Coax terminator and it is 50 ohms.

The impedance of the null plug is around 3 ohms, so you need to get one that matches that or get one from GHL.

Here is a link to what it should look likehttp://www.rrdatatelecom.com/cables-coax-lan-ethernet.html

On point one.
Sent you one. ;)

On point two.
Icons can be labeled in profilux controll. You have to update both places for the name.
