What IS IT?!?!?! ID PLease

I don't have a pic.. its about a inch long.. the bottom looks like a snail sorta.,. but it has a long oblong hard shell surrounding its top and sides.. thsi shell has like bumps/horns on it.

Chiton? Stomatella snail?

. I would think it was a stomatella snail save its shell streches the whole length its body.. if you pick it up .. it curls into a ball. Could be Chiton.. But it says thoes tends to stay small and this guy isnt small.

its shell seems to be made up of Sections.. allowing it to curl up

If the shell appears to have "sections", then my guess is that it is a chiton. Does it look like this?

Frankie that is one oddball looking chiton (if chiton it is).

There are others but they all have that same shape.

I am not sure if ALL chitons are safe, but my understanding is that they are generally reef safe. The beige ones with black markings ARE supposedly reef-safe.

Yeah Very Reef Safe they are the Best Algae Grazer at Night. Totally Nocturnal.

I had 3 chitons just like Frankie's come in as hitch hikers on my original live rock. They suvived for years, through 3 setups. Sadly haven't seen them in the past 6 months or so. Great grazers though.
