I don't have a pic.. its about a inch long.. the bottom looks like a snail sorta.,. but it has a long oblong hard shell surrounding its top and sides.. thsi shell has like bumps/horns on it.
. I would think it was a stomatella snail save its shell streches the whole length its body.. if you pick it up .. it curls into a ball. Could be Chiton.. But it says thoes tends to stay small and this guy isnt small.
I am not sure if ALL chitons are safe, but my understanding is that they are generally reef safe. The beige ones with black markings ARE supposedly reef-safe.
I had 3 chitons just like Frankie's come in as hitch hikers on my original live rock. They suvived for years, through 3 setups. Sadly haven't seen them in the past 6 months or so. Great grazers though.
