Definitely a Euphyllia (which would make it an LPS instead of a Softie). Frogspawn from the looks of it.

Ok what's the difference? I think it was the pistol shrimp messing with it. Now to find out what this coral needs!

Structure and needs.

Softies tend to be entirely flesh; stalk, polyps and all. Stoneys tend to build calcium base out of which the polyps extend.

Softies tend to be a lot more forgiving of water quality (and in some cases a lot more forgiving in lighting needs). Stoney corals range from tolerant to extremely sensitive, depending on what you are dealing with (with SPS typically being the more sensitive ones).

Thanks guys!! I moved him into a new spot that this pistol hasn't ventured and changed the water flow to less.....and he looked a lot happier last night before I went to bed.

euphyllia's (hammers, frogspawns, torches) need to be out of the sand as the sand being stirred up can get into it's mouth areas and it can get irritated. since it's used to being at the bottom, move it to the rocks at the bottom (not in a shaded area), and gradually you can move it up higher if need be.

if you want to move him up, that's ok. but dont rush it, they need to acclimate. going from bottom to top in a matter of a day/couple of days, isn't good.
