Well if you can't tell by the post count that I am new to SW then the question will probably be a dead give away. I setup my first SW tank about 15 days ago. Got about 90 pounds of LR from a LHS (ouch!!) and put it in the tank. Some of it was just base rock from a very largetankwith no lights or fish in it just water, and some was from a lighted tank with fish - has a good amount of nice purple and red algae. Today I got home and find 2 new things in the tank that I haven't seen or put in there - assuming it came in on the live rock.

Sorry for the blurry pic - couldn't get a straight on shot of it. There is one other on the back of my rockpile but couldn't get a pic of it but looks identical other than being a little bigger.

So I pose the question -- what is it?

Nope. You may want to add some peppermint shrimp to your system.

with just starting up---take the piece of live rock out of the tank and scrub off the aptasia--put the live rock immediately back in the tank and you should be fine

Hey miked68. Nice to see another STL reefer on here. Small world. You can mix up some kalk paste or get some Joes Juice/Aiptasia Control at the local stores around here to take care of it.

I used lemon juice on the last one that I had in the DT and it worked gr8. I just filled a syringe and when it wasn't looking I stabbed it in the face and filled it up with lemon juice. Gone without a trace in a few hours.
