What is my clown doing with my zoas?

My female clown is doing what looks like hosting with my zoas.
She is in perfect health, but I noticed last night, she was wedged in between the polyp stems. These zoas have crazy long stems on them. ( They have this long of stems if they are on the sand bed or at the top of the tank).
She is "resting" on top of them. I noticed her doing this a week or two ago, but last night was the first time I saw her wedge herself into them.
Is this normal? Or should I be worried?
Here are a few pics.

I will try the clown forum. Thanks, I didn't even think about it.
As far as the zoas and clowns, I have a frag of those available, and I can send you a pic that you can tape to the side of the tank. That is about as far as these guys are going. LOL.
You would have to fight my wife for these two. They're her favorite fish we have.
Meanest dang female, bites me everytime I put my hand in the tank. The fish, not the wife.:D

I have a clown that hosts in a fish eating mushroom and my tongue coral, basically any coral I put in the tank with extentions.

Looks like those zoas are reachingout to the sun nice pics!
Are you still afraid of that clown???? LOL

Normal, hosting behavior IMO. My clown hosted in my large wessophilia (open brain) coral for months!! They have always ignored the anemones in the tank.

Tank raised clowns (95% of those on the market now) have very strange hosting habits. This probably has something to do with the fact that their eggs are not laid near an anemone so there is no natural attraction toward them (phermones, chemical signals, ect).

In my experience, if you are lucky to find a private breeder whose clowns host in an anemone AND lay eggs, those clowns are much more likely to host in anemones rather than other corals.

My $0.02 worth.

Those are BEAUTIFUL zoos BTW!!!

Nah, not any more. I still jump when she hits me, but only because I normally don't see it coming.
I had those zoas about 3 inches from the top of the tank, under 250w MH, and they looked the same way. Morphed with the colors, but the polyps never reduced their length.
Thanks for the compliments on the zoas.

I also have a colony of zoas that look similar and they stretch out no matter what. I have put them at the top and bottom and I'm running 400W MHs. I am pretty sure that is just the type of zoas they are.

As for the Clowm Fish, in my experience they will host ANYTHING! For many years I couldn't keep an anenome and my clowns would host leathers, brains, shrooms, GSP, exenia, a hammer, and even my clams. Right now I have a large carpet and 2 percs and they host the anenome 95% of the time but every once in a while one of them will call the clam home for a couple days. I equate this to the dog house, kinda like those nights I spend on the couch...lol

Shane, not sure if you now him or not, but Twon8 had his clowns hosting in some zoas, seems to be normal. They are beautiful man, great pix!

Not sure that I actually know Twon8, although the name is familiar.
Thanks for the compliment.
I still have a frag of these long stems for you man. Maybe your new clowns can host in them too. :D

Aawww. I love the pics. (And the zoas!)

I had a perc who hosted with a Maxijet 1200. She slept on top of it. I have a black perc now who nestles onto a branch of my green nepthea.

Too funny, my wild caught clowns host the maxi jet 1200 in their tank.
