I need to go home for a visit this year.

In the South we like biscuits and gravy, might have to try this. As far as best looking SPS I would have to say the red dragon, good color and great shape. Though the del fuego and RP are very nice I just love the thin branched look of deepwater SPS.

that is the worst advice I've ever heard on this website... poutine in ontario... c'mon. It's like eating a chicago deep dish in texas. Wait until you go to quebec before you try poutine ;)

LOL...If that is all mammothreefer wants for that coral frag so be it. I won't argue and I hope mammothreefer knows how to reheat it when I get there.

mmmmmmmm

He lives in London, so why not try a local shop that has a good reputation? He should sample the goods before he packs up the car and drives across the country! Pountine isn't for everybody ;) Either way I live in California now so poutine isn't an option for me. :( The closest I can get is making my own and that's with mozzarella sigh.. Cheese curds are rarer then Red Dragon frags around these parts lol

Besides the fries there are some truly stunning corals. all of em are stone corals.
No softys who get in the range of exceptional?

Red dragon best looking coral? Wow you need to get out of the designer coral names. The red dragon is decent at best, it's an over hyped, over priced coral that people slapped a name on. There are a ton of sps out there in a few years red dragon won't be cool at all watch.

I disagree. I don't think it's my number #1 Coral. It's but it's up on the list, and it's nice enough that I have a whole corner dedicated for it to grow out in my tank. It's a weird piece that has been around for a long time but only recently took off in popularity. It hits all the points on my check list for a good piece worth the money which is why I didn't mind spending 150$ on a frag for it. It's hardy, fast growing, colourfull (can get red w/blue tips and white polyps)

Which pieces in my frag tank stand out the most? To me, that RD, and the setosa they are the first thing I notice..even if it doesn't photograph accurately it still pops in person. There are some corals that look good via a macro lends and some that stand out as a whole. RD is one of those few pieces that I think stands out when you look at the tank as whole like a green slimer.

With that said, smooth skin deep water acros are kinda a niche thing. They've defiantly seen some increase in popularity these days.

the problem with the poutine in another country or province, is the cheese.. it's legal only here ...in quebec......I think is the bacterial % ....for F.D.A or health canada it's not ''legal,, OR RECOMMENDED......But in quebec, we can produce this cheese....We call it (in frech) ; ''fromage en grains'' it's sound : squick squick when you bite hit !

mammoth reefer : Good pic of a acropora poutina ! lol

You can get cheese curds at specialty shops I found them in the Bay Area, and online it's not the same though and they are pricey. The bigger issue is, the majority of Americans in general find the idea of Fries, Gravy, and "Cheese Curds" unappealing. Granted they haven't tried it but I would say more often then not when I discuss it I am looked at with utter disgust. In SoCal we have Carne Asada fries which are pretty popular. (french fries, carne asada, guacamole, sour cream and cheese)

Mammoth the tort you are were talking about from Atlantis is a rainbow tort. I got 1 Ibelieve the first piece Meng ever cut from the big tank by the door. It was hiding in the back and was almost black when I got it. He hadnt changed the halides(8) on that tank in quite some time. Once in my tank it morphed into that exact form. Nice find.
