I just order the unseals to make my skimmer a recirc mod. And would like to know the best way to drill it. Any curtain hole saw bit needed? Anyone had problems with these cracking?

While I have the skimmer apart I'm going to clean the pumps. since the move I am very disappointed in the skimmer it hardly skims anything and takes a week just to get 1/2 the cup full, and most the time that is wet a skim (I have seen darker tea  ). If I turn it up anymore than that it over fills the cup with in hours. I don't feel it has the power it once had, so hopefully a good clean will help along with changing it to a recirc mod.

prop your elbow on your backup ASM (which you'll need after yours explodes and after you smash it when youre ****ed)

or do as the others suggest, but I say use a drill press instead of a regular drill

no matter how slow and steady you are, holding a drill perfectly vertical on a round object is going to be way tough

the ASM's are very easy to drill. They are a pretty soft PVC and any new hole saw should do. I have drilled a G3 and a G2. As far as only getting tea for skim-what pump do you have and what model. The G4 is way underpowered with that Sedra and those pumps arent the best for sucking air. You might want to look at a different pump if you are using the Sedra before you drill it, unless you want a recirc. With my g3 I had good luck with some gen-x pump and not the sedra. Good luck

Yeah I have the 2 9000 Sedra's.. I would like to upgrade pumps but right now I have spent way to much the way it is and I just keep spending more.. So that is going to have to wait for now. It use to make some really nasty stuff, but since I have moved here it has not been worth a sheet!

I don't have it yet. I'm assuming I need a 1". It has the Sedra 2500 pump. the 3500, 5000, 9000 all use a 1" uniseal. I can't find any info on the 2500's needs.

before buying the wrong uniseal. See if a 1" PVC pipe will fit in the end of the pump.. Then you will know for sure. If you don't have a 1" piece of PVC I can bring 0ne to the next meeting.
