I had one and had to give it to my BN Commander years ago. I got one 1 years ago and had a total systems meltdown. I tried my best but lost it. The only thing lost was the Nem. The problem has been fixed but I am not sure I want to do this again. It all depends on if I go with clowns or not. I know they dont need a Nem but keeping things more natural the better. I have done everthing to the T. water pram temp sal ect. I just want to find what what is the hardiest nem? I want to give it another 6 months before I get back into this if I do. This will give me more time to learn about it.
Thanks

For the clowns the Bubbletip is the hardiest, hands down, for just an anemone it would be the Atlantic Condylactus.

How do other reef inverts do in your tank? There are a number others that clowns will host.

Everything else in my tank is GREAT. i could not figure it out. Shrimp great crabs great. everything is great. water changes on time water test before and after the changes. the inverts are great.

Condylactus I have the understanding that they are more aggressive than other and not the best for reef tanks? I had a Ritteri Anemone (Heteractis magnifica)

As mentioned, of the host anemone species, BTAs (E. quadricolor) are probably the hardiest. The bad luck you had before could have been because you started with one of the most difficult species (H. magnifica, aka ritteri). Ritteri anemones are often in decline before they even reach your tank. Unless you're lucky enough to get a healthy one from the start, the chances of success are slim.

On the other hand, lots of healthy BTAs are out there. You can probably find a tank-cloned BTA (either a rose or a green one). If you're wanting a natural clown/anemone combo, tomato clowns, cinnamon, maroon, and clarikii are all natural symbiots with E. quadricolor. Other clowns such as percula and skunks also frequently take up with BTAs in aquaria, but they aren't found together in nature.
