What is this anemone?? And is it poorly?

Hi,

I have had this anemone for about 2 weeks now. It's been quite poorly and not coming and and sometimes has a slightly gaping mouth and also a small amount of slime release.

But I have had very hi nitrate that is now coming down to 60 and down.

It has never full come out yet. I have attached a picture for you guys to ID this anemone for me. I was sold it as a malu.

It's still stuck solid to rock and opens and closes with light. Looks like it's slightly opening up more and more each day. Others are telling me it's dying and I should get rid but it might pull through.

its a red bubble tip anemone. it doesn't look that bad. your priority is to get your water parameters in order and it should be fine.

That's a bubble tip anemone. If your LFS sold that as a H. Malu, I would never go back there ever again.

While bubble tip anemones are easier to keep than other anemones, I would suggest highly that you read on how to care for anemones.

While it doesn't look that bad, it is not in the greatest health. It looks a little dull on the color (it should be a bit more red). Make sure water parameters are rock solid, give it good light, and also try giving some supplemental feedings while nursing it back to health.
