It's just algae. Nothing to worry about. :) Just keep up your water changes and be careful when you feed and it will just go away.

Its actually not algae, but cyanobacteria. Usually caused by an excess nutrient (ie. nitrate or phosphate) problem but also can grow when your lights need replacing or you have too little flow.

Don't :headwallblue: or :headwalls:. It's just part of a new tank maturing.

Go  and :celeb3: instead.

You should look at your nitrate and phosphate numbers to make sure nothing is out of whack. But like Crazed said, if you keep up on your water changes and don't overfeed and it will go away. If you can siphon some out when you do your water changes it will help. Do you have a refugium? Macro algae like chaeto in the refugium will help too. Try to get flow on it will help too. If it starts getting really bad, like all over the rocks and everything, then you might need to look at nitrate and phosphate levels.

ok i have a bermuda rogue wave protein skimmer with a rio 1100 pump, i feed 1x aday ocean nutrient or frozen krill or mysshrimp. i usally scope out that stuff with a net cause when i try to sphon the sand get stucked up also.
my light is an CURRENT OUTER ORBIT M.H 2-150 WATTHQI & 2-130 WATT total (560 watt)

well come guys help i let you know what i have and whats going on what do you think about the bulb situation

You should replace bulb every year, it's up to you what light you think will work with your corals. The cyano will go away after awhile, just keep your params straight.

well i only have a few brownish orange mushrooms and a candy cane im nurseing back to life a friend gave me the cayno grow at night with the lights off?

Sometimes people try to shock it by turning off the display lights for 2 or 3 days.

well i only have a few brownish orange mushrooms and a candy cane im nurseing back to life a friend gave me the cayno grow at night with the lights off?

Usually the cyano will go away at night, so when the lights first come one it will look better but as time passes it comes back.

Replacing the PC's will help or is a good place to start. I would stick with 50/50 but its mainly preferance on your setup so I would just go with the color you prefer most.

heres the bulbs i need for the halides, Current USA 14000K HQI Metal Halide 150 Watt PowerPaq Double End Bulb should i get the 10k that are in there now or 14k?
also how do you know when the bulbs are no good anymore

Listen it's easy to siphon sand, start your siphon then halfway or so down the tube grab it so you can kink it when the sand starts going up the tube , when sand falls back down repeat this is assuming you have a gravel vac not just using tubing
