I haven't heard of anyone keeping them but you may find someone who has a glut of snails that wouldn't mind feeding them to it.

You definitely won't be able to sell it like you could a mantis.

yeah not worried about selling it just dont' want to kill something if I don't have to...just don't see any other options once I get it out.

I hate to kill things too.

I you have to do it, put it in a bowl of tank water and put it into your freezer.
