What is this live rock hitchhiker?

those, to me, look like Aiptasia anemone. I hope some one else can reassure! If it is Aiptasia you need to wipe it out. You can use Aiptasia -X.

i have never seen a base like that on an aiptasia - can you get a shot of the oral disc? is it banded in any way?

It's aiptasia. Is there a reason you're doubting the ID after 3 threads? The first thread the pics were very blurry, but since you posted these pics, the answer has been aiptasia.

Saltyair, since it's an anemone it changes shape. It looks weird because it on the glass.

I will admit I've never seen one attached to the glass

Instead of killing it, because it does look kind of unique to me as well. Here is what a fellow reefer did with one of his. He put it in a jar and it sits on his desk at work. There is no water flow. No movement in the jar. Other than when the anemone reacts to light. Here is a cool video he took of it right after he turned on his desk lamp

They're actually really cool to watch. My first 2 tanks back in 2000 I had no idea what they were and used to feed them. I had some really large ones! :lmao:

Yes Sushi Girl, I always ask multiple people for the same question. This is called research. Thanks for your help but I have identified it.. It is " NOT " Aiptasia, its a Dendro.... Its actually displaying a great color now and has attached itself to the bottom of my DT..

Thx guys.....

Lol!

i do have to say, the base looks wrong for an aiptasia. theres always one or two on the glass at the store where i work. and the base on this one looks too "thick and fleshy and opaque" most the ones i see look more thin and transparent. however, that does not 100% mean that this is not an aiptasia
