What is this? Long white stringy inverts in sump...

looks like bacterial strings. they cluster in groups and form strings. that's a good thing. i could be wrong...
 
Well I pulled the filter pad and decided instead of throwing the pad away, they could first suffer death by extreme UV. Also if I see any left in the sump, what's the best way to kill them? Just squish them?

Do the rest of these just look like normal filter feeders? Pineapple Sponges, etc...?
