bought a snail and when I got it home I noticed it had this attached to is. Anyone know what it is?

I had one on a turbo snail before. I was told it was a juvenile clam hitching a ride & that it would detach later.

Samantha, should be a harmless Hipponix snail.

GerritM, I ran across this post looking for something else, but I have to thank you for helping me identify something I've been looking for for 12 years! My original Vanuatu live rock had several Hipponix leptus leptus in one spot on the rock. Thank you!!!
