what is this?

ok im coming to you cuz i think one of you will know what this is. we got this from a LFS and they told us it was a flower pot but i have been told thats not what it is. its not a good picture cuz its 1/2 open and 1/2 closed. if you can tell what it is and how i need to take care of it i would love you for life! Flowerpots usually have a round base which the polyps disapear into.

I can't see as well as i use to but it looks like branching goniopora/ flower pot. I have not kept this form before but I think it may be easier to take care of than the regular form because the flesh doesn't touch the ground. The regular form needs Bright light/fairly strong current/ and in my apinion an almost constant supply of food. I assume that the branching form would have similar needs. I had one of the regular forms for about 6 years before I gave it away. When the polups were fully out it was the size of 1/2 a basketball.
Thats going to be a nice coral when it starts making its self at home.

Yep, branching goniopora. Not the easiest coral in the world to take care of but it can be done. good luck.

Thank you i know one of you experienced guys would know what it was. now i need to read up on it so i know how to take care of it.
