What is this?

This thing showed up in my 29 gallon tank. The tank has 30lbs of live sand and about 15lbs of live rock. That is what was left after moving everything to my 125 gallon in the wall. I noticed it last night and tried to scrape it off the rock but it sucked its way inside a hole in the live rock. This morning it was back out. It looked like a black mushroom until I saw it move. I cant really tell, but it has either legs or antennas on its underside. Is this thing good or bad what do I do with it? The last picture shows it has some type of opening at the top, don't know if that is its mouth or what.

i have a lot in my tank, and i actually just hopped on to post a thread because i saw one eat the tissue off of one of my sps frags i just got last night. i saw it on the frag but didn't think it would strip the tissue off, but it did. explains why i am having what i thought was STN.

So are you going to get rid of it? That is my question keep it or flush it, or what are the possitives of them. He is basically sitting in an empty tank. Two nassarias snails one hermit crab, thats it. Basically I am using it for a QT tank. My bubble tip aneome just recovered from a run in with a powerhead in there. Thanks Tom

i've had them in my tank for like 2 years, they breed like rabbits, i am removing and flushing because i don't have a fuge, if i had a fuge would put in there. i am happy that i found the reason my sps are losing there tissue

OK now what I am reading is that a limpit has a shell this thing that I have has no shell, other people say it may be a flatworm. Dont know am open for any suggestions will try to get better picture next time it is out. Oh and I will clean the glass this time. Thanks Tom

did some research, they are actually a type of snail, the white you see is their shell and the black is their mantle. read a lot of different web sites and some people have reported them eating coraline algae, and if there is not significant algae to remove them from your tank. may be the reason why one or two have switched their diet to my sps because not enough of their normal food source is available seems how i also have 40 astria snails and 20 nerite snails.

What Rireuter has is a Scutus. Tenderuc's may be a Scutus. I doubt your Scutus has eaten your SPS. Please don't flush them. I will take any that you do not want. I would be willing to pay to have them shipped to me.
Scutus are not slugs; they are snails.

You are more than welcome to have it. Have never shipped anything live before, you talk me through it it is yours. Tom
