Here is a couple of pictures i have found of the store, sorry they are so small, i just found them on some advertisements. You can see the main display tank in the middle. Heres the teaser shot ;)

OceanPet in Northridge, Reseda Blvd. George will take care of you in the sfv, as well as Pet Sepreme in Sylmar . In the OC there are whole bunch of stores but there is a diamond in the rough.

i enjoy going to vivid aquariums even if the prices are high, dave has nice stuff.
fraggle reef and miguel, reef hot spot with max, and sometimes oscar's exotic fish in gardena.

Maybe someone that lives close by and goes there frequently can take a picture of the display tank and post it for the rest of us to see. If it is as nice as many of you say, it may "well be" worth the trip!

:)

I'll more than likely stop by next week, I'll try and remember to grab my camera and see if I can get a couple shots of the tank. They have one of the biggest clams I've ever seen in person. I warn you, my memory bites as I'm 6 months pregnant. And I'm trying to start a reef tank. Yep, I'm a glutton for punishment...

BTW, so glad I found this forum. Nice to find locals!

Yeah they do, that clam is a beast! Don't forget your camera, i know a lot of people here whom can't make it to that store on a regular basis would love to see it. Just let Bill know the pictures are for a good cause, and not to be surprised if he's rushed with a bunch of new faces in the store by the weekend

i love strickly but alittle on the high side but i have never got a sick fish from there.

i guess you get what you pay for:D

Coral and Fish Center IS in Santa Ana, I was there today. Thats by faaaarrrrrrrrr my fav. shop.

Second on my list is OC Aquatics, which is actually off Adams and Brookhurst in HB

Tongs....ehhh...cool to go look at their displays

Carson Tropical Fish in Hawaiian Garden, corner of Lincoln and Norwalk. If you take freeway 605, get off Lincoln/Carson, Strictly is on west side, and Carson Tropical Fish is on the east side of the 605. Store is so-so, but the owner is hardcore reef, and been in the biz for quite a long time. You can ask him to order/get you almost anything, as long as it's legal.

wow.. all posts and no mention of JEFF's? :D
Jeff's is a cool place to get drygoods and all sorts of equipments.. it has the "warehouse" feel to it, kinda like Reef Hot Spot. Jeff himself is a cool, helpful, accomodating guy.

Coral and Fish Center right next to South Coast Mall (previously ReefCollections) has AWESOME displays and the store is CLEAN. However, their pricing was better when they were ReefCollections back in the old location. They seem to have gotten more expensive now..

In the Valley, Underwater Depot is a good place too (for drygoods) They sell Tunze and ASM stuff

A good old school place to visit is Mark's Tropical Fish on Ventura Place (NoHo) It's a tiny store but well-stocked. Mucho SPS too!

ive been to the jeff's in orange and i dont really think much of it.

CFC is a very nice looking LFS, Coral Oasis usually has some nice stuff too.

I go to fish paradise, only cuz they give me killer deals and whenever i'm looking for something they always let me know if they can get it. Probably cuz they're small and not a lot of SW people go there.

Someone did mention Oscar's (formerly Jeff's). The place has definitely improved with the new ownership, probably because it finally gets its owner's undivided attention. Jeff had one foot out the door for some time with the success of his OC stores.

Ok so I checked it out on Wednesday and you guys are right the store is awesome. They had some absolutely huge fish. My only complaint is that the store is too small. The picture above is almost the entire livestock area. Tongs, Pacific Reef and Sea Side are all much bigger. Because of this I give them 8 out of 10.

I agree with vote for Coral and Fish Center. That place is frag cental. Also OC Aquatics is pretty cool. Mainly I go there because someone on RC owns it and his post are awesome.

I second OC Aquatics.

I can't believe no one mentioned Eye Candy in Garden Grove. Nice selection, nice customer service, great prices and the prices are actually marked. I think its on Lampson and Beach.

I stopped by Gill's in Temecula for the first time yesterday. Nice guy, very, very helpful. I liked the fact that he has the prices for his corals marked on the tank, something I do wish that Crystal Cove did. Smaller selection of dry goods, but he said he was happy to order anything. And the shark is pretty neat :)

avoid pacific reef fv i asked one of the workers where the powerheads were and he replied "whats that??" then like a fool i went ahead and baught a tang (store owner's recommendation) a clown tang and 2 cleaner gobies very hardy he says... clown tang died by day 2 and one of the cleaners killed the other within the same time. Yeah...really hardy LOL
SEA SIDE on beach and atlanta has always been good to me!!!
