What is your "Favorite" LFS ?

Here's those pictures of Crystal Cove:

This last one will become the new display tank, since the reef tank has to much coming and going to really thrive, they said.

Enjoy!

How is Aquarium Center? I'm in town for the next couple of days and wanted to see a good live stock store. Staying in Hollywood so I'd rather not drive too far....

apex aquariums for me!!!

Are you serious? They have a bunch of dying corals and a limited knowledge when it comes to saltwater livestock.
My vote is for Reef hot spot

Doug....
Welcome to the LA area.... try this aquarium store finder:

http://zoyzoy.com/aquarium/aquariumstoresmap.asp?zip=

Thanks,

I am planning on coming down tomorrow, Saturday... Still putting my list together as my wife and I are making a day trip out of it.
Looks as if these are my main stores to see:

Coral & Fish Center
OC Aquatic adams and brookhurst in HB
Crystal Cove Tropical Fish
Reefer Madness
Pacific Aqua Farms
Reef Hot Spot
Vivid Aquarium
Coral Oasis

Thanks for the help, any help narrowing this down even further would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doug

If your going to be in HB, I would go by Tong's on Warner and Magnolia and Pacific Reef on Brookhurst and Garfield as well.

Even Seaside on Beach an Hamilton too, they just re-did their store, I was pleased this last weekend.

All are only a couple miles from eachother. I live in the middle of them, and all have their high points. :)

Hi Doug,

Sounds like you and your wife are going to have a great day !!!

Can you please let me/us know what stores you finally ended up going to and what you thought of each one ?? It would be great if you could take the time to do this.

Thanks in advance!!
Irene

where is crystal cove

Its in the middle of Houston closer to downtown. This one is probably as big as the one you are talking about, Aquarium World which was also on my Journal if you look a couple pages back.

Yes its aquarium world. That place rocks :)

I second all of HBtank's suggestions

Well, I did make it to OC Aquatic. I ended up dropping my whole budget there. The store is small, but very well stocked with excellent frags. The guys there are very helpful and knowledgable too. I ended up spending a couple of hours in their store, not to mention my entire budget. ;) I did also drop in to SeaSide Tropical Fish, excellent dry goods stock, and excellent prices. Their store is big and had alot of livestock.

Still many more stores to check out yet! the adventure continues....

Thanks,
Doug

Coral Oasis is my favorite. Sometimes they have really good stuff in their 5 dollar frags. I got a neon blue and purple chalice a little bigger then a quarter for $5 a little wile ago. Their fish are healthy to.

Tongs in fountain valley has the best selection of fish and corals, but more dieing fish then an oil spill.

OC Aquatic on the corner of Brookhurst and Adams is a great store it has really expanded and has lots of nice frags.

Pacific Reef in fountain valley has redbugs:(
