what is your lighting schedule

I just got a 4 bulb(2 white,2 artinic)t5 fixture with built in moonlighting, and I need to know how long to keep each light on.I bought it at the Sea Cave in Erie and I thought he said 10 hours total with white on for 4 hours in the middle(need to call and make sure).I put artinic on at noon, white 3-7,artinic till 10,then moon lighting till 6 am.The room is pretty dark but has enough light till noon that the fish move about but are not fully active. Is there anything I should change?

I run actinic from 2pm till 11pm. I add white from 4-9. Whenever I storm up the tank with a powerhead, I run a lights out period for 24 hours.

Actinics - 7:30am - 8:00pm
Daylights - 10:00am - 7:00pm
Fuge - 7:30pm - around 8:00am

Just curious as a noob in reef lighting.. What is the reason for having actinic on before and after the daylight lighting? Any beneficial reason?

I belive it simulates light gradually increasing and decreasing like when the sun passes overhead
(dim early in a.m. increasing till mid day then decreasing in the p.m.)correct me if I am wrong

The optimal length of the photoperiod and intensity of the light will depend on the needs of the specific atupotrophic(photosynthetic) animals being kept in the tank.

Sun set and rise. I think if anything it is a little nicer - who wants big bright lights flicked on first thing in the morning? Also, depending on your corals - some really "pop" in the actinic only lights.

Hey Amazo,

Is this the Deep Blue fixture? If it is, how do you like it? I was thinking of picking up the 36" 4-bulb with integrated moonlight LED's.
Thanks!
