What is your skimmer fetish

I have just purchased a CSS220 and love it, I had a aquac remora pro on my tank before. I know there is another very long thread for this but my wife caught me doing this and asked me this question. Why is it that all you fish guys have this fetish with skimmate? She then asked me not to touch her again. But I took the pictures to post in the other thread but decided it was funny and warranted its own thread so others can show off their fetish with skimmate LOL.
This is after 2 days of skimming and the book says it takes 48 hours just to break in. I tell you what this skimmer really made me feel terrible seeing it pull out all this skimmate, made me feel like a bad care taker. Everything in the tank has been growing I can't wait to see what effect this has I can already tell the water is clearer. But strangely enough my water parameters were great before with no nitrates or phosphates.

thats the skimmer and the gunk i pull out of the waste collector is very bad smelling, now i instll a lot of septic systems so i can say what bad smelling is. i also clean the neck twice a week and it is always dark brown when i clean it. this on a 90g

I think we should bottle some skimmate and send it in to fear factor for people to drink! Anybody that can do that without puking deserves some money.

Or maybe we could market the stuff as the new miracle "mud bath"...for a "fresher you"!

man u should smell the crap in my skimmer, it has a rotten everything smell to it and its dark dark dark coffee color to it

i have found that the liquid part of my skimmate doesnt smell nearly as bad as the solid waste part of it, when i clean out the colelction cup, usually once a month in the shower, it absolutely horrid.

yeah fear factor has nothing on that

This after another 2 days of simmimg. I think my tank is lightly stocked to and I feed every other day once that day which consist of 1 mysis cube, 1 angel garlic cube, cyclopeeze all dethawed in tank water. Once on saturday I feed oyster pearls to my sun polyps. People say these need to be fed everyday but I actually brought these back from deaths door steps and they look like this now.

But that is not what I posted here for. I try to clean my skimmer cup when no one is home or very early in the morning like 5am. Well this morning I was so tired, worked a 60hour week that it was about 7am. I wanted to take more pictures to show here and was that a mistake. I had never really had stinky smells before with my other skimmers but this time oh my it was hoorid. My daught actually came downstairs and and walked over by me and got sick actually puked. I started to take pictures of that to prove it here but figured that was over the top, and my wife already thinks I am wierd by taking pictures of this. It had a terrible strong smell of like sulfer it made me start to wonder if skimmate can be toxic.

Needless to say this will be my last set of pictures of skimmate this all really was suppose to be a tribute to Coralife and my satisfaction with this product the CSS220.
