What is your sump height for use with your Tunze skimmers?

I just upgraded from a standard wet dry that I was using as a sump to an oceanic sump model 2. I don't think the water is any deeper than what I ran in the wet dry... I did about a 20% water change also with the swap. So I replaced the water from the wet dry that I removed with new salt water and called it a water change....

Any rate since then the skimmer has been running flat. Its bubbling but not producing anything? I did this new change on Saturday and its almost a week and not one drop of skimate?

Maybe I have the water level to deep in the sump and if so I would build a stand for the skimmer to rest on to move it up.

What water heights are any of you running for in sump applications?

Thanks
Spankey.

I have a 9005 in a sump and the water height is about 1 inch below the water level mark on the skimmer box. The skimmer has the sump kit installed.....Mark

I have the 9010 and it does have the sump kit. I made a stand for the skimmer and its in about 5 inches of water due to the stand and its now skimming???? The higher the water level the less skimming I would get? Weird. When it was in my old wetdry it was in about 10 inches of water and worked fine....

It sounds like the sponge may be up over the top of the pipe or the elbow may be inserted to far into the skimmer. This would cause water to choke the air intake if the water level was higher.
