Don't they kind of go where they want and is the brown on supossed to be all brown no white tips

They go where they want as long as it is in sand, I'm sure the one was placed on rock, but they really don't like that and will move eventually normally, as long as light is sufficient.

As for white, no healthy host nems will have white, that's why I said they are bleached.

I think the tips of the first one will remain mostly white. The second one could end up being any color. Definitely move them to the sand though. They need at least 4" but more is better.
