What kind of Acclimation Box do you use?

I want to get a new acclimation box that I can clip/hook/magnet onto the rim of my display tank while "socially acclimating" new additions. I've been using a "Critter Keeper" with holes drilled in it for the longest time (you know, the things at pet stores you see everywhere...). It works, but it's a PITA to feed them as you have to reach in the tank to do it since they're on the substrate. I've seen a bunch of boxes for sale, and most of them seem to have a lot of gimmicks, so I'm looking for something pretty simple, but better than my current method, and would like input from y'all.

LMK, thanks!

Brother....I'm a little ghetto.....i use your method (and have a spare set of tunze magnets)...i'm sure you can imagine the details! lol

It's a bit expensive, but I've seen the "Acclimate." I think some of the online retailers on here have them.

I believe Premium Aquatics does, and they're a sponsor, so I'll mention them.

Austin, I made my own that double as a fish trap with a trap door at one end. It's big enough to house even a medium sized fish for a long time. I know I still owe a couple of guys their acclimators but every time I step out in the garage to work on them, the conspic makes me stop in my tracks and I end up standing there staring at my fish :lmao:

I had mine made by a RC member, but doesn't make them anymore.
I found a website that sell some real nice ones though. I;m not sure if I;m allowed to post it though. pm me if you want the website.

This is mine.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I will be getting the big one Brian linked - can't beat pricing on those bad boys, and size is just right :D I'm skeptical about the suction cups, but they should suffice for the short times they're in use.

I feel ya man! I'm just getting tired of using these, and I don't have spare magnets so mine sits on the substrate. Of course, I spook the hell outta the poor fish initially in there when I have to shoot their food into the container with a Sea Squirt! They get used to it after a few feedings, but still a PITA!

Austin, there a four suction cup on the larger one. I plan on using a magnet to replace the suction cups. For the price you can't bet it :).

Agreed!

What kind of magnets are you using? Like a mag-float just stuck to the inside?

I haven't got the box yet, but a few bigger mag-floats would work. The box is made of thinker acrylic so it doesn't weight to much.
