What kind of anemone do I have?

& how do I get my clown to live in it?

Both my baby True Perc and Anemone are doing great; both eat heartily and are healthy in every way, however, the clown wants nothing to do with his sticky new home. ;) He avoids it, big time.

Any ideas on how to coax him in? There are no other fish in the tank.

Looks like a BTA, or perhaps a Condy? I am definitely not the anemone ID expert here. But I'd guess it's either one or the other.

Honestly.. you have to just let the clownfish do his thing. He will either host it , or he won't . It's the harsh reality, and it is disappointing I know.

However.... if you really wanted to try some coaxing techniques... you could TRY to feed the fish close to the anemone (or feed the anemone . just make sure the fish are near by).. they may brush up on it or go into it for the food. Sometimes it just takes a quick brush up on the anemone and presto... they found their new home. I can't guarantee anything... time is usually the only successful way to get them to host.

bubble tip anemone. you may just have to wait it out, if the clown isnt going in. could take weeks, months....years...or never. but i suspect in a few more weeks you could have them together, i guess depending on how long youve had them already....

Thanks for the info.

I've been feeding the fish close to the anemone; he is slowly getting braver. A week ago he wouldn't go near it, not even for food. Today, he gets close enough to almost touch it, but won't go in after food. Some tentacles touched him while he was eating this morning and he shot to the other side of the tank like a mad fish.

They've been together about 3 weeks now, so, I'm not sure what the deal is. Someone mentioned putting one of those clown fish algae clips on the tank next to the anemone could convince him it's safe. I don't know, but I guess for a couple of bucks it's worth a try. :)

I have two anemones, a BTA that's near the top and a LTA that's at the bottom in the sane. My clowns won't go in either one.
I tried the clip idea and no luck.
I guess I have to try patience and expect that they will never go in there so that I may be pleasantly surprised one day.
