Please let me know which kind of anemone is hosting your Oscellaris clown. Experts say they will host in only carpet anemones and one other kind that is very hard to keep and rarely in stores (I forgot the name).

The experts are referring to what they do in the wild. In captivity, a lot of ocellaris host in BTAs, but some never host in any anemone.
Mine have been hosted by xenia, colt coral, the overflow, pieces of PVC, a heater, a suction cup, the silicon caulk in the corner, the back side of a stick-on thermometer through the glass, and my breeding pair is presently hosted by my hairy mushrooms. The experts are wrong.

Thanks for the very detailed response. I've heard from several people that BTAs seem to be an option.
I am getting a mated pair of black and white oscellaris tomorrow. If we get eggs, I'll let you know Kathy. It will be a couple of months before that is even an option because they are going to live at McBeck's house until the new tank is up and running.
On the BTA hosting - I had a pair of black ocellaris that never left the top 1/3 of the tank & the BTA is on the bottom. They hosted in some xenia until the male jumped. I replaced the male, and the newbie just happened to sink into the anemone when I released him. I thought for sure he was a goner b/c he was so small and the BTA is enormous, but he LOVED it.
The female saw him and left her xenia to meet him. She tried to get him to go to the xenia, but he wasn't interested and she quickly realized the BTA was a much nicer place to host. Now she won't venture more than a few inches away, even for food.
Since you're setting up a new tank, you might be able to encourage a BTA hosting by sectioning off a small area of the tank for the BTA and the clowns. I think you could do it w/ eggcrate. If they don't have another hosting option, they might take to the BTA pretty quickly & you can remove the eggcrate after they realize the BTA is THE place to be.
