My firefish goby has some weird white parasitic (at least that is what I think) lesions over his body. I count at least three. One on his eye as well. They seem to be tiny white strings either dangling or they are crawling under the skin. What the heck is this!?!? How do I treat it? I am missing one of the two already. It seems to be swimming normal. No strange behavior, which makes it even more odd. Thanks.

If you can see it moving its not ick, and don't do FW dips as they are more stressful and not effective at all for ick.

I am sure it is fluke, as I had ick before. If I nuke the tank, are there any invertebrates, snails, polyps, zoas etc that wil be killed or affected??? Any advice on the nuking of the tank would be great!

I will try a fresh water bath for the fish, trating the tank with formalin will cause serious damage. I am not sure about the flukes life cycle but because most reproduce in the fish or all need fish as a host, If you can take the fish out to tratment and quarentine for one or two months that could help erradicate it.

Fluke isn't a life threatening problem and nuking the tank isn't necessary. Just capture the fish and give it either a FW or Formalin bath ... that will remove the fluke from the fish. If you see flukes on the fish again just give it another bath.

Edit ... not sure I suspect a cleaner shrimp may be help as well.
