What light will actually fit?

SO I picked up a used 20 gallon setup. 300015695484 on our favorite garage sale site. Anyway, it only has 56 watts. I am wondering if I should step up to t5 or higher, but here is my concern. It has a hood. I like the look...I don't mind a cut here or there, but I would like to keep the hood if I can. The space I have to work with on the hood is 19' wide, 3' of space above the water and 14 back. Should I stay with this and make it work or go higher. The problem is the lights sit right above the water.

The smallest T5HO they make is 24" so adding them to your existing hood is going to be nearly impossible. A MH pendant would be neat but the hood would have to go.
