What lps corals like a moderate to high flow?, 1 hydor koralia 2, 1 MJ 600, 20 gallon

I like ones with long tentacles. And is my current considered strong?

Depends on the placement of the powerheads. Typically, I would say that there are no long-tentacled LPS (that I'm aware of) that prefer a strong current.

my hydor is pointing towards the middle of the tank from the top corner and my MJ is at the other side pointing upwards. I can take off my MJ but without my MJ there wouldnt be much if any surface agiation.

I've never heard of an LPS that likes high flow. Most of the LPS's that I've researched like low to medium.

I've placed my lps from mid tank down to the substrated. I let the two loc lines point down and they give adequate flow to the lps. I place sps's in the uppper part of the tank---I have two power heads and a hydor up there on a wave action power bar--they deliver flow to the surface and meet the needs of the sps

Difficult to judge flow from still pics. You can have a lot of flow--as long as the lps can extend their tentacles and look happy then your flow is ok. Obviously you don't want the coral directly in the flow path. I am running 2 seio 820's in a 58 gallon, plus the return pump which is a mag 7.

You want something with long tentacles.......how about dendros? I have dendros and they do really well in my nano with a powerhead indrectly blowing almost at them. Their tentacles are swinging around. They seem to like it. Also they may need medium flow because when you feed them, they bloat up really big. Without medium flow, their bodies kind of flop over. The flow helps keep them upright.

you still have low flow. Dont worry about it.


FWIW, my favias seem to do MUCH Better in high flow. I have roughly 100x turnover, and no problem finding spots to keep lps.

Alveopora or torch coral in the bottom left of your tank would look very nice m8.

My lps are in quite a bit of current, but it's chaotic: I have a corner tank and have 2 opposed sea swirls that make the tentacles toss. Growth is good.
