Hello to all. So i just picked this "sunburst" at a lfs in Miami. It was sold as a colorado sun
burst. No proof and im a newb to fancy anemones. It has yellow tips, red/orange tentacles, and speckled red center. Any help would be appreciated. What characteristics make it a starburst? Does yellow tips make it a sunburst? Thanks

Sorry for the typo i meant SUNBURST. Trying to figure out how to post pics from my s7 cellphone. Pics will be up asap! Thanks. Does yellow tips mean sunburst?

They were asking $300 I got it for 275. Def looks nice and orange with yellow tips, but idk about two hundred and seventy five nice

The only thing that makes a Colorado Sunburst a true Colorado Sunburst is the lineage. Otherwise, you can call it whatever you want. They're still the same BTA species with different colors.

If you're worried if you got scammed or something, that's definitely a possibility. The CSB fetch a pretty high price. So if you paid the same as a true CSB and expect an exact lineage of CSB, then I guess it would be bad.

Judging by pics alone can be misleading, many are taken under heavy actinics, so it may look totally different in your own tank.

Yes my concern was definitely whether the price I paid $275 was justifiable or if my lfs was being shady. For some reason i doubt it originated from Co. Wild caught would be my assumption. It definitely glows very nice with yellow tips under actinics compared to my other showpiece RBTA. Will fix my photo quality issue and let the Nem get a little bigger, then i'll post some eye candy! Thanks

But as I said originally it was sold to me as a Colorado sunburst so if it is wild-caught like I assume, that would pretty effed up! Lol

The old Impulse Purchase. This lfs usually has very reasonably priced stuff. So when i saw that price tag it was like nothing ive seen before in that store. So i figured it was something rare. I was also in the market for some nice rare looking bta phenotypes. Tired of the usual colors.

It doesn't look like a CSB. You'll need to go back to your LFS for some clarification. If they can't provide any sort of proof that it's a CSB, then yes, that's shady.

RBTAs with yellow tips have been called all sorts of things by different vendors and sellers--mai tai BTA, tequila sunrise BTA, etc.

You'll need to post photos of it under normal lighting as the actinic/blue can throw off the colors a lot.

Give the nem a few months to see if the yellow tips fade away. I've seen many of these morphs where the yellow tips disappear leaving a rather drab RBTA.

Regarding price, it's simply based on what the market will pay. Prices on CSBs fluctuate A LOT, just like stocks. Right now they're going for over $1k on the FB forums. Because of this, folks are trying to sell other BTA morphs at inflated prices.
