"clove polyps" I believe.. Might be a "better" name for them..

Actually, they look more like Sansibia to me. Yes, they can grow to cover most of your rock, but at least IME, they are nothing at all like other similar looking species. In my tank, they make very nice cover for the rocks while at the same time have such weak defense that any and everything can grow right over the top unlike clove polyps that have been known to kill other corals.

These things are a real PITA IME. They'll be popping up everywhere eventually. My tank is just littered with small patches of epoxy where I've been trying to smother the remaining polyps. Using a brush only makes it worse. :thumbdown
