I'm planning a stocklist for my 29G. I want some nano and i mean NANO! fishes, like 1" or less! since the tank is small... big fishes like 2.5" and above will only make the tank look even smaller.

I like nano fish from exotic to common. Post pictures of any nano fish you know!

does the goby spends alot of time on rocks / substrate? I'm planning to get some nano gobies also.

Any nano fish that swims in the open space?

Most nano fish >1" are bottom dwellers. Elacatinus oceanops (neon goby) has always been in open waters somewhat for me.

There's lots of small nano fish. most are gobies or blennies but still very attractive. tailspot blenny, flaming prawn goby, Dracula goby, coral goby, rainford blenny, court jester blenny the list goes on and on and most that I listed max out at about 1.5"

Whoops! just noticed my arrow goes the wrong way :o I meant most fish less than 1" are bottom dwellers or hiders.

You're in the Phoenix area right?

You should check out Pets Inc in Tempe, they are usually good for nano fish. They often have tailspot and barnacle blennys, as well as your nano gobys like the greenband and highfin...

If I get some Neon Goby and such goby that are small like that... How many would you say I can keep in the 29? I'm running a skimmer on this if that matter

A fire fish, purple or regular is a great open space swimmer. I have a 15g long that is 24"l x 12"h x 12" w, I have a tail spot blenny, yellow watchman goby, a Caribbean sailfin blenny (not algae blenny), and a purple fire fish. They all get along great. Keep in mind that I have a 10g sump and a skimmer to account for that much bioload in a small tank.

Fire fish would be too big.

I will add a 20G fuge or bigger in the future. Feeding pump from Biocube 1st chamber into the fuge.. then gravity drain it back into the Biocube.

I love my Bluespot- They are on sale near me for 70$ which is a great price.

i am looking to go with a Flame Angel and Midas Blenny or perhaps a pair of clowns.

Thinking about getting a Vivertex Pseudochromis aswell.

Sixline has always done well in my tank.

Firefish is a great nano fish, I have three orange firefish in a 28 gal with refugium. I have had the trio over a year, little aggression. They swim as a group it the wate column.
